8/14 St. Louis Cardinals @ Cincinnati Reds 6:40pm EST
Reds TT over 4.5 +100 (1u)
Alright, we head to Cincinnati and to back a team that has been somewhat enigmatic for us this year. It seems like the Reds either score 8 runs a game, or they struggle to get a man past first base. Offense has been up and down for them this year, but it does seem like they have stabilized as of late, with 57 runs scored in August through 12 games. This play is definitely a little risky, hence the +100, but we do feel that the matchup and ballpark warrant a unit here.
Kyle Gibson gets the start for the Cardinals, as he comes into this game with a 3.99 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. The Reds have had great historical success against Gibson, with a .325 average and .366 OBP in 77 career plate appearances. In their previous matchup this year, the Reds won 7-1 and even though they only got a solo Home Run off of Gibson, they still scored 7 runs. With this overall success against Gibson, we think that there can be a return to the mean here as we look for the Reds to do more than 2 hits and 1 run in 6 innings tonight. Give us 5 Reds runs and let's see some speed on base tonight.
